Hello I'm Clay Johnson I was born and raised on the Central Coast of California. I grew up on a small farm ten miles inland of the central part of the central coast (Near
Morro Bay). I spent much of my younger years riding bmx bikes with lots of open property. After that, I took a few trips to the beach with my dad Jan
Johnson who was a 1972 Olympic Bronze Medalist in the Pole Vault in Munich, Germany. My sister Chelsea Johnson went on to get the Silver
medal in Berlin, Germany in the pole vault as well last summer. I grew up Pole Vaulting and taking occasional trips to surf the warmer beaches of Southern California as a
teenager such as Doheney, Trestles and beaches of San Diego. I placed third in the state of CA my senior year in the Pole Vault. However, my main source of training and
exercise was surfing which became my passion. Im Currently traveling as much as possible collecting surf clips, and shooting photo's with Surfer Magazine Staff Chris
Burkard on our scenic coastline. My main focuses are getting publications in mag's and video parts for film project's. Im Excited as an Ambassador for RUSTY focused along
Central Coast of California and elswhere. When i'm not hiking into remote, fickle, cold wave spot's along our coastline I enjoy skateboarding on the half pipe in my
backyard, editing surf footage and organic farming on the 4 acre property I grew up on. I love Thai food, exercising and being healthy. Here is a VIDEO I finished last week
from a few surf sessions up here in mid December 2012...Im starting to film for this upcoming
INNERSECTION film contest for next year too.
