HANGER 94 ~ DEMO DAY

 

This Friday May 24th be sure to make your way down to the La Jolla Shores Parking lot for the Hanger 94 Surfboard Demo Day. The event kicks off at 8 am and runs until 2 pm, and gives everyone who make sit down an opportunity to test out the latest shapes and designs from your favorite shaper and brands.

There will be a stack of new Rusty shapes for you to test out as well, so you can get your summer shred sled dialed in before the crowds hit.

Be sure to post pics from the event and tell us which board was your favorite using #ourkind on your photos on Instagram. One lucky winner will receive a summer prize pack, it could be you!

DEL MAR SURF CLASSIC ~ PHOTO GALLERY

Check out the photo gallery from the Rusty Del Mar Surf Classic event that went down this past weekend at 15th street in Del Mar Ca. Tons of people turned out to watch their local heroes and up and coming surfers slug their way through heats to try and take home the first place spot.

Rusty surfboards was on hand to demo the latest and greatest Rusty shapes, and the crowd on the beach enjoyed some amazing weather and great waves for the entire event. Thanks to Rusty Del Mar for putting on such a great event, and to all the people who made it down to the beach to support their local surf shop and scene!

NOR CAL ~ BOARD DEMOS

Come join the Rusty surfboards crew this week in Nor Cal to test ride the latest equipment and shapes from Rusty! The demos are free, just bring your I.D. and see one of the guys at the Rusty tent. You will be able to talk shop and figure out what shape and design will help increase your ability and shoot your fun level through the roof.

Rusty Del Mar, or RDM as it's known to most locals, opened its doors in 1987. That's when surf industry legend Rusty Preisendorfer spotted the corner space while driving his favorite coastal route looking for waves.

Since then it has been a staple of the local Del Mar surf community and surf scene, putting on local contests and events including the upcoming Rusty Del Mar Surf Classic happening Saturday May 18th at 15th Street in Del Mar. Rusty Del Mar also has the latest and greatest Rusty surfboard designs and clothing, stocked, and ready for you to go check out and grab your favorite styles.

RIO ~ PRO

The Billabong Rio Pro kicks off this Wednesday May 8th at Barra Da Tuuca in Rio De Janeiro Brazil. The top surfers on the planet will be taking to the lineup to battle it out for points and the first place spot, while thousands of spectators take to the beach to root for their favorite pro!

Rusty team riders Josh Kerr and Willian Cardoso have been down in Rio for the past couple of weeks prepping and training for the contest. Be sure to watch live and root Kerrzy and Willian on as they take on the rest of the CT and show off their competitive surfing skills.

DEL MAR ~ SURF CLASSIC

The Rusty Del Mar Surf Classic is set to take place Saturday May 18th 2013 at 15th Street in Del Mar California. Four divisions including open, masters, high school, and middle school will take to the lineup to compete for the win and first place spot!

The contest starts at 8:00 am and runs all day long through to the finals. The Rusty crew will be on hand with prizes, instagram scavenger hunts, and gear for those who come down to root for their local rippers.

TEST RIDE ~ RUSTY DEMOS

Come try out the latest Rusty shapes and designs Thursday May 2nd with HSS Surf Shop in Huntington Beach, and Friday May 3rd with Ventura Surf Shop in Ventura. The Rusty crew will be on hand with stickers, gear, and prizes, as well as a grip of new sticks for you to shred!

LAHINALUNA WINS 19th ANNUAL MAUI SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 19th Annual HI-TECH Maui Interscholastic Championships went down this past weekend at Ho'okipa beach park, with the Lahinaluna surf team taking first place and edging out Baldwin in the finals. The Rusty crew was on hand creating custom hats, hanging with the kids and contestants, and hooking up the crowd that came down to cheer on their teams with prizes and gear!

This is the 19th year that HI-TECH Surf Sports and Rusty have held the event together for Maui's high schools teams to compete for the title. Team members with a 3.5 GPA or higher were also awarded at the event with special Rusty gear and recognition from the crowd. Tasha Jahrmarkt was awarded with a certificate for a brand new Rusty Surfboard for her outstanding GPA and participation with the team.

Lahainaluna High School led the eight-team field with 196 points, Baldwin High School was second (187), followed by King Kekaulike High School (181).

Kain Daly, of Kihei Charter, won the boys shortboard, His winning wave included a completed backside reverse to take the win for the day.

The 19th annual HI-TECH Maui Scholastic Championships presented by Rusty will be taking place this Saturday April 20th 2013 at Ho'okipa Beach Park in Maui Hawaii. The event brings some of Maui's top young surfing talent to the Ho'okipa lineup for their chance to take home the first place spot, and the scholastic championship title.

The event is celebrating it's 19th anniversary this year and promises to bring fun and action to all the spectators and contestants who make it down to the beach. The Rusty crew will be on hand from 8 am - 5 pm Saturday with games, prizes, and giveaways including your chance to win a brand new Rusty Surfboard from HI-TECH surf shop!
