How Can I Order a Custom Rusty?

_mg_1596

As a young, frothing grom, I ordered my first custom board at the age of 14 and I spent countless hours dreaming the board up...

Where would I ride it? What dimensions would I order? Which shaper would I have shape it? What artwork would I add? I obsessed over minute details and waited in anticipation as my board made the rounds from the shaping bay to the sanding room and everywhere in between. What a rewarding feeling to get that board under my feet! Nothing beats a board that was shaped entirely custom for me...

I just ordered a new board last week (ten years after my first custom order) and, I must admit, the frothing grom has emerged once again! I have doodled on every piece of scratch paper I can get my hands on to come up with a creative airbrush and I have a hard time falling asleep at night because my new board to be is surfing through my mind.

If you want to conjure yourself up a custom new dream board there are several ways to place your order:

1) Order at your local surf shop - Custom Rusty Surfboards can be ordered at Rusty Board House, Rusty Del Mar, or any authorized Rusty Surfboard dealer across the Nation.

2) Call the factory- Our expert staff will help you pick out the perfect custom craft for your size, desires, abilities, and destinations.

3) Schedule an appointment with a shaper- call the factory to set up a time and come in to speak with one of our legendary shapers one on one.

4) Online - check out our board line up and download a PDF version of our catalog

Board of the Week: GT

gtr-board-of-the-week

The GT is your go-to board for "between" swells, i.e. average, everyday surf. Back foot oriented surfers will enjoy the lift, drive and skate of this small wave machine.

Deep single concave between the feet running into a slight "V" flaring off the corners, helping add rail arc and complete turns. Average entry rocker, plenty of curve on the rail for tighter arcs, finished with relatively flat tail rocker. The GT's tail is a little wider than average, with volume shifted back. Ride 1-3" shorter than your standard shortboard.

The GT is currently in the running for the "Best Surfboard Design" in the 2009 SIMA awards!

Head on over to the board page for more info!

Nate Yeomans…Tour Down Time

nateroos1

The contest is now over and the crowds have come and gone along with the swell. Today was a nice break in the action of non-stop swell and pristine conditions for the last week here in Margaret River. So what to do when the waves go flat? There are pretty much 2 options around here: go check out all the wineries or head down to the Margaret River golf coarse. Last weekend was the end of the contest and we had a couple late nights out, so it was a negative on the wineries.

As we pulled up to the golf coarse we realized that there was one major difference here from the golf courses in the States. That difference is kangaroos. When I say kangaroos I don't just mean a couple, I mean hundreds. So what do you do when you have kangaroos roaming the fair way? A good reason to make some bets. $50 bucks on who can hit the first 'roo. I know it sounds mean, but if you saw me golf you would realize that there is a good chance I'm going to be losing some money. We actually got half way through the first 9 and went soft. The 'roos were pretty cool looking and there were a bunch of little guys cruising around so we called off the bets. On the bright side Austin and I shot par on 2 different holes after we stopped aiming for 'roos......... Is there a moral to this story? NO, but if you want to come up with one feel free to send it my way. Yeah Mates.
