Rusty Apparel and Surfboards, along with Scion and San Diego radio station KBZT (FM 94/9) are proud to announce the launch of Random Acts of Art, an art design competition coupled with FM 94/9's and Scion's Ultimate Surf Ride contest. This three-way partnership encourages lifestyle enthusiasts to intimately connect music, art and board-riding by soliciting up-and-coming and seasoned graphic artists to showcase their talent on the medium of a Rusty surfboard.

From June 30th through July 27th artists will be invited to submit their creative expressions by visiting fm949sd.com. Submitted artwork will be digitally exhibited on both Rusty's and FM 94/9's website. Graphic artists will be solicited from a barrage of radio ads, national email data base blasts and national on-line banner ads.

After the submission process, a panel of representatives from Scion, Rusty and FM 94/9 will review all graphic art submissions and select the ten representations which most creatively express the spirit of these three lifestyle intensive brands. Rusty Surfboards will then produce ten one-of-a-kind surfboards with the selected artists' graphic art. These truly special surfboards will be displayed to the entire Action Sports Industry at San Diego's ASR Trade Show, September 4 - 6, 2008 and then given away at Scion dealerships to FM 94/9 listeners as part of the Ultimate Surf Ride promotion.

Along with displaying the unique surfboards at the ASR Trade Show, a group of Southern California's most talented artists will express themselves in a free-hand art exhibition that includes completely covering a Scion xB Hatchback with imagination, color and (perhaps) reckless abandon.
