Dooma came up empty on the second day of his East Coast search for swells. He is bracing himself for some torrential downpour and the good possibility of epic surf in the morning...

Damien "Dooma" Fahrenfort is driving all throughout the East Coast chasing hurricanes and looking for swells. His first stop is the Outer Banks where the swells have been fun, but with Hurricane Earl about to come rampaging up the coast line things should get huge. Stayed tuned and have a look at what he found in Hatteras...

And the mayhem continues… Apart from the all day antics in Vendor Village day 3 held something a little special for the spectators!
Rusty was the presenting sponsor of the bikini contest that took place on the main stage. After a quick mishap when a band thought they were suppose to play during the same time as the bikini contest the crowd filed in and the contest was under way! Will let you be the judge and you can see the winner crowned in day 4.
Make sure you check out all the photos in the gallery…

Congratulations to the young Kylie Loveland for placing 1st in the NSSA Southwest Explorer Girls, 1st in the NSSA Womens at HB Pier, and an equal 5th at the Surfing America Prime at DMJs; not bad for a weekend's work, especially when you're not old enough for a worker's permit.

Just when I thought the beach could not get anymore crowded and the kids would get tired of walking in circles getting product left and right came day 2 of the ECSC…
With Vendor Village opening at 10am you better believe we had a line of kids at the dunk tank ready to go at 10am! Unfortunately, we had set dunk times at 11, 1 and 3 so we could manage our product and keep us from burning out at noon. In all good fun everyone got a chance to dunk there favorite chump and kids were sure to come back at the set dunk times.
The highlight of day 2 at ECSC was the band Party Theft consisting of Rusty team rider Spencer Regan, Volcoms’s Andrew Doheny, RVCA’s Ford Archibold and front man Diego. Spencer, Andrew and Ford were all out to surf in the contest and Rusty helped the boys rent some equipment so they could play on the main stage after the event. If you have not yet seen Party Theft play live well then you need to. Even if you don’t like the music it’s okay because you will walk away entertained and I guarantee you will go back to see them again! Take a peek at a few of the photos to see what I am talking about and stay tuned for the ECSC video…
Damien Fahrenfort, Mikey Ciaramella, and Keto Burns advanced through their heats today and will continue the grind to the finals tomorrow.
Stay tuned for day 3…

The East Coasts longest running surf competition is underway and the madness in Vendor Village has begun! I have never seen so many frothing groms and I am convinced every kid 16 and under that lives in VB was there. And a new meaning of body art is becoming a thing of fashion at these events with kids running around fully logoed up with spray paint, stamped and stickered…they are walking billboards for the brands!
Rusty has a stamp of their own and did a good job sticking it to em’ on the sand today. Sorry Mom’s! Another big hit at the Rusty tent in Vendor Village was the dunk tank. All you have to do is throw the ball and dunk someone and will give you a FREE custom hat. I’m not sure if we had more people wanting to get dunked or more people wanting to dunk!
On the contest side of things Rusty had a few team riders surf today and advance on through to later rounds. Stay tuned for more detailed heat break-downs as the contest gets further along.
Check out the action from today in this photo gallery...
