We recently had a photoshoot with our wake team including Stu Shinn and 2009 Alliance Wakeskater of the Year Andrew Pastura. Alliance Wake was there to film the shoot and they got some sick footage of our boys throwing epic tricks, not to mention that this session produced not one, but two Photos of the Week - click for Andrew’s first POW and second POW!

Andrew Pastura: 2009 Alliance Wakeskater of the Year!
Alliance Wakeskate just named Rusty’s Andrew Pastura Wakeskater of the Year! Pastura was awarded this prestigious title because of his innovative free riding and mind blowing movie parts in Nike 6.0’s Aquafrolics and Scene One Production’s Fun Boots.
He also managed to rack up a couple wins such as claiming best trick on the fun box at the Trinity River Invitational and his backside 360 kick flip was nominated for Best Trick of the Yeat at the Wake Awards! However, a congratulations is also in order to Reed Hansen as Alliance named him Co-Wakeskater of the Year with Andrew!

Trinitiy River Round Up Recap

Last weekend the Trinity River Pro Wakeskate Invitational presented by Monster Energy went down in Fort Worth, Texas. With four obstacles over the 24 spillway including a fun box, incline rail, kicker and the Monster wall ride, the contest format was simple: each rider had a freeride pulled by a PWC and the best trick on each obstacle would earn the rider $1000. Rusty’s Andrew Pastura threw down a 270 shove to front board on the fun box to earn him earn him a cool $1000 and custom forged branding iron trophy. Congratulations Andrew!

Nike 6.0’s just unleashed their new wakeskate film, Aquafrolics, and its available to download for free!
Here’s a brief summary about the film from Nike’s site:

Aquafrolics captures the travels, travails, and progression-fueled fun had by the talented 6.0 teamriders over the past year. The crew—Nick Taylor, Ben Horan, Matt Manzari, and Andrew Pastura—joined forces with innovative filmer Matt Staker to push the envelope on both riding and filming techniques.
